AIS RLT-SDR

Hello
I'm trying to get AIS working with a RTL-SDR donggle in UBUNTU I have completed the installation as described at:
https://www.reddit.com/r/RTLSDR/comm...s_and_opencpn/

I recieve this error message:

$ ais_rx -sosmocom -g35 -r250e3 > ais_pipe
gr-osmosdr v0.1.4-67-gac15e789 (0.1.5git) gnuradio 3.7.9
built-in source types: file fcd rtl rtl_tcp uhd hackrf bladerf rfspace airspy redpitaya
Using device #0 Realtek RTL2838UHIDIR SN: 00000001

Kernel driver is active, or device is claimed by second instance of librtlsdr.
In the first case, please either detach or blacklist the kernel module
(dvb_usb_rtl28xxu), or enable automatic detaching at compile time.

usb_claim_interface error -6

FATAL: Failed to open rtlsdr device.

Trying to fill up 1 missing channel(s) with null source(s).
This is being done to prevent the application from crashing
due to gnuradio bug #528.

Thanks for any help

Do you have writes to open the device.

Could you add sudo before the command and see if that works?

Re: AIS RLT-SDR

Got it to the next step by disabling the RTL module as suggested, Need to figure out how to adjust the gain

Re: AIS RLT-SDR

Set auto gain. The rtlsdr plugin automatically invokes rtl_ais with the correct parameters.

Re: AIS RLT-SDR

For git fetch of RTL-AIS from Dirk.
Windows build.
Copied the new version (4.2.0) of buildwin into the directory.
cmake -T v120_xp ..
