What's the longest you've been continuously at sea

Hi all

I know this is going to invite a swathe of cocky remarks, which I don't mind , but I really am interested in hearing what you have to say.

I've just been reading about John Sanders triple circumnavigation of the world (658 days without stopping or receiving assistance). That's impressive, but it's also within a regulatory context. By that, I mean that it was a formal attempt at achieving a world record, carefully measured, rule-driven and verified.

I'm interested in hearing from forum members regarding what is the longest they have ever spent at sea without stopping in a non-competitive situation.

I'll wager I'm at the very bottom of the list: I'm 655 days short of Sanders record

22 days. That was enough for me. Long passages are boring and tiring, for the most part.

Did you talk to yourself the whole time or did you pull a Robert Redford and not say anything at all?

To be perfectly honest I think by day 10 I'd probably be going a little crazy and think the aliens had me stuck in a time warp and I wasn't actually going anywhere. You know twilight zone kind of stuff.

Talked to the tiller pilot.. abused some guy with a white beard in the clouds, sang and danced for the dolphins.. advised Orca's food in plastic is carcinogenic...
2nd half of June is an awesome time to cross.. seems to tie in with a lot of migrating mammals.. saw so many types of whales.. birds in pairs accompanied the boat for days and after so long another pair/species would be hanging out and take over as escort.. saw a new born dolphin..
No boredom for me..

Never saw a newborn dolphin... Must been awesome!

I once had a newborn seal pup entertain me for about 1/2 hour.... Acted exactly like a (canine) puppy who's only thought was "It's playtime!!!"

Yap... Look at me! Now I'm over here... Here... here... here... yap! yap!
