but was w/o power.
Out the other side of it 8 months later.
It was pretty frustrating and I often found myself wishing I could just do without, almost sold the boat.
Did once find someone to drag along with me on an enginless 2 week or so local trip and enjoyed every minute of it, though when it was over I wanted to re-christen the boat Patience. Learned a lot about the boat and just how much I liked being on the water
. A lot of conservative sailing staying well off shore rounding leeward headlands and on my toes big time when comming in to anchor
and plenty more time between points a and b at times.
I agree with others who think you can find a used engine
for good money
. I did my own installation
as well once and w/o much mechanical aptitude though advice help from knowledgeable dockmates made a huge diffference.
You'll be up and running in no time and better for the experience for sure!
