Re: Maddening night time noise

my pinche lil mexicat was hearing something exciting him in the dark..he was sleeping int he head closet and in shower, where he heard it best. i searched all over.. heard the constant regularly regular ticking sound an d tore boar apart looking;... turned out to be something on the huge but not mega yacht near us.. strongest at keel on my boat.. pooor chico was distressed. noise went away when the cpt of boat left today. finally silence.
oh yeah and krill. is hard to distinguish this ticking sound from krill, as they are similar, but one, electronic, is regularly regular and thew other is random.
chico doesnot mind krill, but this regular ticking drove him more nutballs than normal.

We left our dock in Ft. Lauderdale for its new home in the Chesapeake Bay Area. The maddening strange noise which occurred every night at dusk and stopped at dawn in Ft Lauderdale is gone.

Phew! Need some way of letting other/future boaters at the dock know.

Re: Maddening night time noise

Sounds like its not an issue for you anymore, but sounds to me like it could have been pressure buildup being released from something containing liquid as the temperature changes. For example, when i keep one of my water bottles in the hot car, it will make a weird buzzing, chirping noise at very regular intervals as the pressure releases. I though it was something wrong with the engine for the longest time because I would always hear it after turning off the car.
