I would think raising the mast to the boat would not be too much an issue.... But without any elevated purchase, how would you step it? A deck stepped mast would likely be whole; what if it were keel stepped and got fractured in the demasting? How woud you deal with the "ragged edge"?

I don't know about this. The mast/boom are going to be attached and the best you can do it winch it with a cabin top winch. On my boat that's a lot of freeboard to be aiming a jumble of rigging at, and a low angle to do so. Without really any way to make use of it, trying to bring the rig onto the boat seems dangerous beyound it's benefit.

And again the risk of injury is on top of this. How many can "manhandle" the damn thing from a 40' boat once it is on board?
