Thankful

While I can identify with all the other postings, every time on the water I give thanks.

(not to mention a few times when I was thankful to be back at the dock safely -- but those are for another time...)

Lets see...
You want one word to describe:
The exhilaration, and awe of running before storm in the Atlantic and almost being in control
The serenity of a sailing across the stream on a perfect day.
The utter enchantment of sailing up a silver river of moonlight on the bay.
You want one word --- Impossible immediately springs to mind

Freedom.

A boat is a transportation device, after all.

In the words of Billy Joe Shaver:
"Moving is the closest thing to being free."

Gotta go with freedom, but hey what would I know? Never set foot on a boat,
but that's what's driving me.
