Only a sample size of one, but the Tacktick system we installed in 2008 is still working fine.

Re: wireless wind and speed instruments - is it OK

For out on the water they seem to do fine but anywhere near cell towers there may be a problem.

Also, the distance between the monitor and sender are questionable if it says 60' go with 50'. The problem I experienced with my Tack Tick is the sender is forward of the mast and the monitor/receiver is behind the mast.

But for the most part it worked good, just not for an ocean crossing if one depends on it like I do. It was only temporary until I could rewire in a new system.

We have a Nexus system on our boat - and love it. They were purchased recently by Garmin. Half the price of the competition.
