Who Else Makes Multiplexers ?

I have been looking to get a NMEA multiplexer for my boat but I am hitting brick walls when it comes to finding someone who is making them.

So far this year it seems like Brookshouse is not doing any business. I tried contacting them at the start of the year with no reply. Their webshop has not been working and now it says on their site they wont be shipping an NMEA devices until June.

Last week I gave up on them and ordered a ShpModule multiplexer from the local Swedish distributor. Then I got a call to day from them to say that the manufacturer is not making any at the moment

Who else make them?

Re: Who Else makes Multiplexers ?

Thanks for the suggestions.

It does not look like any of them support Seatalk, which I also need.

Hi Hoppy...

Did you try the Raymarine one NMEA 0183 Multiplexer

Otherwise there are a few listed here: NMEA 0183 Multiplexers

Good luck.

Re: Who Else Makes Multiplexers ?

Hi Hoppy,

We (ShipModul) do certainlay make multiplexers. However, due to an overwhelming start of the season, we had to unexpectedly increase production which has lead to long lead times. We have been able to deliver but not to all dealers yet and we are working our way through backorders. In a couple of weeks, stocks will be replenished. Which Swedish dealer told you we are not making them?

The suggested Raymarine multiplexer (also made by us) does not support Seatalk. All of our multiplexers except the MiniPlex-Lite do.

Regards,
Meindert

Re: Who Else Makes Multiplexers ?

thanks mhsprang...

Maybe there was a misunderstanding due to language as he called me and suddenly found himself having to speak English and perhaps meant to say making them available, i.e. not shipping.

I was hoping to play around installing it when I am back down at the boat in a couple of weeks, but I guess I will have to just wait until later.

Re: Who Else Makes Multiplexers ?

Ok, but I'm still curious as to who this was, because no Swedish dealer has placed order with us in the last few months...
