Which antenna for Standard Horizon GX2150?

I will be climbing the mast to upgrade the RG8X coax to LMR-400 soon. I am also thinking about upgrading my ancient antenna. I'm considering the Morad 156 Deluxe, Metz Manta-6, and Digital 222V. Any thoughts on which would give the best voice performance, while also performing well for AIS? Are there others I should consider?

Re: Which antenna for Standard Horizon GX2150?

We just installed a GX2150 with LMR-400 and went with the Digital 222V. Seems to work just fine - AIS targets appear at long distances (50nm, depending on conditions) and voice communications are perceived by others as strong and clear at 15-25nm.

Of course, all of this could also be true for your other antenna choices - we did not do any comparison testing.

VHF performance is nominally limited to line of sight, so most decent installations and antennas will be more than adequate.
