Ok so during these fine winter months Windthief is getting some heavy refits. Deck paint being one, while doing this the under dodger dash(gauge cluster) is being updated. I have sourced out some replacements by Raymarine my old Signet stuff is not working so well. Here's my list tell me if you have had any good or bad times with this gear. Second hand experience is ok. First off the tiller(Windthief has an 11,000lb displacement) Ramarine ST4000 with the A12006 auto pilot Second Raymarine ST60 Tridata with thru hull T22050 features depth, speed, and temp. in addition to other stuff Third Raymarine ST60 Club house wind system with A22016 windex anything? 1st http://www.marinedeal.com/product_p/-c13476.htm 2nd http://www.marinedeal.com/product_p/-c13475.htm 3rd http://www.marinedeal.com/product_p/wa22016.htm NOTE: I won't be buying from this company |

A friend of mine made the same change, and has had no complaints. He gave me all the Signet units, but no transducers, sooo... Yes, I can recommend the units, and if you want to get rid of any of the signet parts, I am interested. I would add that the Raymarine 4000 is a bit finiky until you get it dialed in. Once you get it dialed in, it will steer great in all conditions. |

I have some raytrheon and raymarine items on my boat and I like them. My autopilot is dying and must be replaced after 23 years. It will be raymarine that replaces the old autohelm.

Raytheon and Raymarine electronics are all I will ever use. I have had no problems with any of their equipment. I have used the wind, tridata, VHF, autopilot, chart plotter, GPS and RADAR on two boats. I have used other equipment in the past but will continue to use Raymarine.

Ok, well that sounds posative and I will probably go with the aformentioned equipment. Thanks. As for the Signet stuff I have a wind data system minus the cables. I have two wind transducers and the gauge with digital wind speed. make an offer I guess. |
