Weatherfax on Asus X101

Hi Folks, I have an Icom M710 HF transceiver and want to connect it to an Asus X101 eee computer and have a go at receiving weather faxes. The Icom has an external speaker jack on the back panel and the Asus a combination headphone output/microphone input on the side. Problem is connections to these jacks that does not do any damage to either device. Anyone out there have experience with these devices.

Re: Weatherfax on Asus X101

Hi,I have an Icom 718 HF which I use to receive weather faxes on my Asus laptop.3 years old.I use JVComm as my programme. You will need a mono cable that runs from the speaker jack to the Asus microphone input. You can buy these cables from any electronics handy stores,or make one up your self. The HF speaker has a large plug so I just bought an adapter.Make sure that the cable is mono.Stereo will not work.
I have been been using this system all around the South Pacific, works real well.
