Weather fax with Pactor problem

I have not been able to get a Pactor IIe to work with weather fax. i have personally tried with 2 different modems, 3 different computers, and 3 different operating systems. I have talked to 2 other people with different radios and systems and always the same result. The fax starts fine but locks up and stops receiving part way through. A error of lost communication with modem is displayed. I have used Airmail and another software that i cannot recall the name of right off. I would think someone else out there has had this issue as well. Anyone know how to fix this?
