I've yet to find one, instead went dual boot with xp for jvcom and some ham stuff and Debian for nav with opencpn. Had no luck with jvcom running through wine in Linux either. Luckily dual boot isn't hard to set up.

Cocoa Modem 2.0 works for me... does other cool stuff as well, and is free.

I used a Sony AllBand radio and my MacBook Pro, using the internal mike. Worked like a champ. Sorry, I don't remember the software, but it can be easily found with Google.

Receiving Weather Fax and Weather Satellite Images With Your Macintosh

You have to set your receiver to USB

Look at the frequencies listed in the link: the so-called "frequency" of the station and then the frequency to which you have to tune there is an offset of 1,9 kHz.

There is a lot of freeware available to decode these types of digital ssb modes, not only JCComm.

Both JVcomm32 and Sail Mail work with Pactor modems so you can use the same setup for fax and email without rewiring.

Hello all, I wonder if anybody can confirm that BOM, Aust still transmit the weather fax service, judging by the thread here and also the other weather fax thread running they seem to. I cannot seem to pick them up on my HF and I called BOM and they said they stopped a while ago.

As of t his morning (2030 GMT 13 Jan 2014) both Charleville and Wiluna were happily broadcasting the MSL, with good copy here in Tasmania.

That was a scary rumour! We depend upon those broadcasts when at sea.
