Unplugging a B & G 20/20 Display?

OK, want to remove a display. It has a small screw in the back holding the plug in, but I'm not sure if the plug comes out of the hole, or the whole thing pops off the back? Anyone know?

I assume you are talking about disconnecting the wiring.
My H3000 10/10 display came with a wire that was attached to the unit at the factory. It was connected by attaching that wire to the fasnet junction box. The unit should still have a wire attached to the display when removed.
I understand the current 20/20 is the same attachment as my 10/10 display.

My 20/20 display has the wire connected to it permanently too. Take care with this display; it's built like if it needs to go in space (high tech and quality) and costs a fortune. Do not open it.

The only problem I ever had with a 20/20 was when the remote push-button switch which selects the displayed data is stuck. The display won't work or shows ROM errors with a faulty switch (disconnect switch from junction box to check it).

You must trace the wire to the network junction box and disconnect it there. The screw on the back does not hold the "plug" in. It's not actually a plug anyway. The screw should only be removed by us tech's who need to get the display open for service. It allows air to get in as trying to seperate the two halve's of the display is very difficult without removing it.

OK, thanks guys. This one does basically doesn't work - you can barely see the display at night with the backlighting on, and not really much at all in daylight. It's basically useless, and I was just going to remove it. There are 3 others that work better, all in a line. This one has suffered from moisture intrusion more than the other 3.

I can replace pretty much my whole system for the price of a single 20/20 display. This technology is at least 20 years old and this particular unit IS 20 years old...

Fading of the LCD is a common problem with these old displays. The problem is usually not with the LCD itself, but with the way it connects to the circuit board. I can repair it for you if you like for the cost of shipping plus whatever extra you want to throw in there. PM me if interested.
