TV Phone CoAx

We have been into continuous improvement, replacing stuff and removing obsolete devices and wiring, especially abandoned and 'spare' wires. The boat is 1984 Camper & Nicholson 58. I am now down to the phone/TV port next to the shore power connection and all of the internal wiring throughout the boat. There was a Shakespear disk TV antenna on the mizzen Coax throughout the boat to every cabin & solon. I removed the antique B&W TV with picture tube.

My question is, "Should I remove the coax, shore/antenna switching stuff, splitters etc?" I have a feeling that none of this stuff is relevant any more. Are there destinations where this is useful? That entire nest of little black boxes would go (lower right).

Re: TV Phone CoAx

Obviously no need for phone lines, as you would just use a cell phone wherever you go.

TV? Kind of up to you. If coax is strung throughout the boat, and you are in a marina that offers cable television hookups (as some do) then you might want to take advantage of it.

Personally, I would probably pull it out. But it's really your choice. I mean, it's not hurting anything, right?

Re: TV Phone CoAx

The interest her is to rid the boat of un-needed stuff and to open up packed wire ways. Its difficult to see from the photo but the closet behind the Nav station is a rats nest of wire.

With no TV on board, cell phones, - seems like not needed in the US. Perhaps there are still places where we do??
