You can safely cut and splice Airmar transducer cables (Garmin uses Airmar) without voiding the warranty, if you use the Airmar J-box (available from Gemeco.com) and carefully follow the instructions. There are a few J-box types, depending on the number of conductors in your transducer. The folks at Gemeco will help you select the right one.
