To Wait or Not to Wait?

My iPhone 3Gs took a dive and is dead.... So I'm stuck either:

1. Buy a used 3G and wait on the 5
2. Buy an iPhone 4 now? And get wrapped into another 2 year contract.

If you can I'd wait as I reckon the iphone5 will have some good improvements and features over the iphone4.

Ok - something nautical - buy a new I-phone and purchase the Navex app and you'll have a gps, compass, knotmeter, charts and plotter!

Skip both. Buy an iPad and install Skype. Cheaper than the iPhone (over 2 years) and more versatile.

Skype lets you call someone from any computer, including the iPad.

Wait a couple weeks for the 5 to be announced and specs given and then decide based on the price of the 4's (or the new 4s) after the announcement.
