Re: Time for a new VHF, what do you think?

You didn't add it to your cart - the actual price for the Simrad is $325 (the Lowrance is still $299). Nice looking radio specs, although I don't like the esthetics of the physical unit much. Must be pretty new because I didn't see it when shopping for our SH.

Wonder how long the wireless remote lasts in use. We have friends with a different radio and wireless remote mic and they say it is useless because it basically needs to live on the charger.

If all you are looking for is a VHF that transmits and receives, PM me. I have a Hummingbird I removed when I put my VHF/AIS receiver radio in...

$50+ shipping

It gets cheaper while we talk The remote has a Lithium battery so that trouble of always needing to recharge will not apply to this unit. The remote is fantastic I think and only $138 in the shopping cart!

I like the design of the radio too: small with a third of it being speaker on the front. Minimalistic, easy to clean, cord to mike that is not falling to pieces like Icom
