Tiller pilot/wheel pilot/ wind steering help

I have an older AH1000 tillerpilot with wind sensor(see picture) that worked great on a previous boat, but the buyer didn't want AP so I kept it. The sensor helps it steer relative wind angles and did so very well. Ok, so here is my problem: I recently purchased a 31' Hunter W/ Navico WP 10 wheel pilot which seems to work well, but doesn't interface with either my chartplotter (Garmin 741xs) or with any wind instruments to steer a relative wind course. Does anyone have any experience utilizing a AH 1000 tillerpilot with wheel steering, or can recommend a wind instrument that can talk to my wheel pilot? Sorry for the long rambling question, but thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Re: Tiller pilot/wheel pilot/ wind steering help

Maybe I should rephrase my question. Does anyone have any experience or insight into using a tillerpilot with a wheel steered sailboat? How did you attach the tillerpilot to the wheel? What was the range of steering and limitations? Any helpful knowledge or experience is greatly appreciated.
Thanks again!

Re: Tiller pilot/wheel pilot/ wind steering help

your range of steering would likly be next to nothing...

it might hold a straight line in no seas or wind...

that AP looks compleate basic and doesn't even have nav input let along wind.

best option would be upgrading the wheel pilot.

is your wind sensor nmea 183?

does your garmin have a nmea 183 input?
