Tiller pilot control from iPad

Hi all here is my situation I have inavx on my iPad as a chart plotter I also have the vesper marine xb 8000 AIS transponder and I have a simrad TP22 tiller pilot, unfortunately due to me not researching properly I thought that I could send the NMEA 0183 data from Inavx, (ie go to waypoint information) to the vesper marine xb 8000 which has NMEA 0183 data output and wire that into my simrad TP22 to steer a course. This doesn't appear to work.

My question is do I need my tiller pilot connected to a chart plotter that is connected to the NMEA data out from the vesper marine xb8000 that is receiving waypoint information from inavx to make it work?

I highly doubt the AIS would take any nav data from anything. most devices will only accept and send sentences they use / need.


you need to feed direct from a chart plotter to the pilot.


maybe there is a wifi - nmea 183 converter? but I'm not up on the wifi / ipad stuff. only use real stuff.

Take a look at Brookehouse. I have been using their products for years and they offer various Multiplexors that add NMEA, Seatalk, and WIFI
