TIDES

I am able to goto the web site for a tide chart, and that is ok. I also can goto my GPS and it also had the tides. I need .84 to get out of my canal so on a rising or outgoing tide I need to guess when that happens while reading the tide charts on line. The GPS is a graph, similar to a sine wave, and I can very acurratly pin piont the time to make my move to exit the canal.

My question is: Is there a website that show the tides in a graph/ sinewave?

The best I've seen is an App for iphone and others called "Aye Tides". Perhaps it is also on the web. Superb. I've tested it throughout the US northeast but it works worldwide. Good luck.

Tides - FreeTideTables.com

This is the website I use. Just scroll below and pick out your state, area. I am assuming you are in the US.

I like the graph also. It is whole lot more easier to understand than a bunch of dates and times on a spreadsheet.

Re: TIDES

Why don't you do the Tides by going into the tide tables and do the math yourself? Instead of relying on electronic toys that may have had garbage data put into it.
No batteries of any sort are needed if you do yourself.

Re: TIDES

J Tides is a graphic presentation that does not even require an internet connection.

You can find this freeware here: * JTides Home Page

Re: TIDES

Tides32.com is an old but very useful tide program and free at: WXTide32 Download
I like its presentation and it has a built in tidal station library so you can find the nearest tidal station to your location.

Re: TIDES

I would second the use of apps if you have the capability. More likely to be accurate and not prone to human error. There are many good ones. I also like BuoyData, which will find the NOAA buoy closest to you and relay real-time data

Depending on your location, you might be able to find it on the NOAA Tides and Currents site here:

Re: TIDES

Actually there are literally hundreds of places to find the tides. WindGuru and WindFinder have them hidden down in the corners of their main displays. Just find the little link to "Tides" and click on it.
