Tactic Wind Transducer

I have an older Tactic wireless wind insterment, the mast head transducer has stopped spinning and seems to be stuck, in searching around i have found a replacment bearing kit and also a battery for the transducer.
My question is has anyone replaced the bearing in one and was it a proper fix for the problem also i was not aware there was a battery up in that head unit.
Thanks

Without one, it wouldn't transmit at night.
