Standard Horizon cpv 550

Anyone using this or the smaller cpv 350, if so what is your opinion? I'am attracted by the 3 year warranty, price & the fact that all the SH VHF radios I've used all worked with out problems. I'am also considering Garmin's 740s, which ever I choose will mainly be used as a plotter, AIS & radar display. All comments welcome, Thank You.

I've had the CPV 350 aboard for about three years. The unit has been flawless. Having a DSC VHF integrated with the chart plotter is a winner when sending or receiving DSC calls. The only downside is displayed AIS targets do not have enough contrast - the AIS symbols are almost the same color as the cart display.
