St5000 plus control head no output on drive?

Hi,

our ST 5000 control head works, but does not give output on the two drive connectors, normally pressing a button like +10 or - 10 should result in a 12V supply to move the actuator. I checked the actuator it's fine.

The control head is working apart from this. Is there anyone who knows what component could be faulty inside the control head? Best would be a picture.

We have a soldering iron on board and can measure voltages...

Thanks,

Franziska

I have a 4000 and it's similar.
You very likely don't have any defective parts, just bad solder connections on the output transistors.

It's a common problem, and an easy fix.

Re: St5000 plus control head no output on drive?

Has the ST5000 enclosure been opened for a visual examination?

The rear panel small Phillips screws may be removed so that the clam shell enclosure may be opened.

All those rear-panel connectors are transferred to the internal circuit board by sockets and pins.

There should be "large" power FET devices that may be measured using a multimeter for defects.

Assuming all the logic / display is good, then the brains are working, so I would look to the output driver circuitry.

Awesome, we approach that tomorrow morning.
Just had a Macrel for dinner.

Life is good, but better if you do not need to steer all the time.

Thanks!
