SSB Transceiver location

Does anyone have any ideas on where to mount a transceiver for an ICOM M-710 in a Whitby 42 Ketch where you will have good air flow and hopefully not too much interference?

Re: SSB Transceiver location

It's desirable to have as short a run to the antenna via the antenna tuner as is practical, so how you rig that comes into play.

Re: SSB Transceiver location

Oh, I've got the antenna tuner placed just about right underneath the antenna in a cabinet in the aft stateroom, so it will be a very short run to the antenna tuner. That shouldn't be a problem.

The problem I'm having right now is that I have a radio with a remote head, which I have mounted, but I'm trying to find a place in a Whitby 42 ketch where I can place the transceiver where I'm not too far from the battery bank which is under the Nav Station seat, and where the transceiver has adequate ventilation.
