SSB Microphone

I inherited an ICOM M 802 SSB on my boat and I've found that none of the buttons (transmit, channel up/down, p) on the HM 135 microphone work. Thus I can't transmit. I went into the set mode to make sure the microphone was "ON", but to no avail. The cord and mic look "brand new" so I was wondering if I am committing some kind of operator error that I am not aware of. Also, I have an AT 130 (not 130E) and in the set up mode only AT 140 and AT 130e are listed as choices. Which should I use? Thank folks.

Could be bad connections due to surface corrosion on the pins or sockets. Use an electronics cleaner like DeOxit, let it dry a bit, then re-insert the microphone. Wiggle it a few times and pull out and back in again.

The AT140 setting should work.
