Spot Global Phone and Data

Does anyone have any experience with the Spot Global Phone and Data Service. I must be missing something, but the service area looks to encompass a lot of our planned cruising grounds with unlimited phone and data at $1800 a year???

SPOT Global Phone

The little 2 way text have become popular, wondering about the voice. Data is slow, but fast enough to check your email in the middle of the ocean.
