Single bank Battery Monitor with Automatic Charging Relay to starting bank as a load?

Anyone out there using a single bank Battery Monitor with an ACR or echo charger wired as a load on the shunt?

I'm curious if this is a kosher installation, as I haven't found references to ACR's and Echo Chargers in any of the white papers... Curious if the relay opening and closing would play havoc with Victron BmV-700.

Cheers,

Zach

Yes, tons of folks are doing it. The ACR have no effect on the shunt or monitor.

as long as the shunt is only on the one battery bank, and the BVM is programed for the size of the one battery bank then you are fine. it's only monitoring the one bank.

Which raises the question why only one bank?

Because a reserve/start bank uses next to nothing to start the engine and a voltage check and/or irregular use works just fine to make sure it is OK.

And I have a Link 2000 that does both!
