Simrad CX 44 battery replacement

Has anyone ever changed the battery in the CX 44? My unit is 9 years old and it looses location every time it is shut off. I believe the battery for the CMOS is dead. The manual say it has to be done by an authorized service rep. I am wondering hard can it be?

... haven't worked on a CX44 yet but on plenty other SIMRAD GPS units. If you can hold an soldering iron from the right side it won't be hard ;-) ...

Most if not all SIMRADs I worked on will have no battery holder but batteries with 'solder lugs' on them (like these: http://www.amazon.de/Batterie-CR2032.../dp/B00HT1UMVK).

Can't remove motherboard to replace battery on CX 44. appears to be soldered in to parts attached to the housing? Any guidance appreciated
