Simrad 3G Radar using BR24pi OpenCPN won't turn on.

Hello,

We have been experiencing issues where our Simrad radar won't turn on from in Open CPN. There are similar issues on the forum and we have tried all these fixes without success, hoping someone here can provide some assistance.

The radar is recognised by OpenCPN, but won’t turn on, and is stuck on “Waking Up” setting. OpenCPN log contains the following clause repeated 5 times every second (refer attached)
Radar busy encountered, overlay_refreshes_queued=1

Notes about config:
Simrad Broadband 3G Radar via R10
• Raymaraine evolution EV1 heading sensor with NMEA2000 SIMnet
• Running on Lenovo laptop with no Ethernet port. Radar in via a USB/Ethernet converter (flashing solid blue with flashing red/green lights)
• Red/Yellow power connected together with a 5A fuse
GPS comes into laptop via USB port

History
• Worked fine for first 2 months
• Intermittent issues with “IP conflict” started to arise. Radar would work after uninstalling and reinstalling software or intermittently for no apparent reason
• IP conflict fixed by manually assigning IPv4 address, error fixed and radar worked 3 consecutive times but has since stopped turning on.
• When the radar manages to switch on the quality and overlay is good, aligns with charts and visual reference points.

Debugging so far
• Update Opencpn from version 4.6.1 to 4.8.0 and BR24pi from 2.1 to 3.817
• Measured current into radar R10 device from boat, sitting at 200mA then jumping up to 800mA intermittently.
• Measured voltage from R10 device out to Radar.
o Red 13.8V (alternator output)
o Yellow 12.2V
• Uninstall / reinstall software multiple times
• Install OpenCPN and BR24pi onto Microsoft Surface Pro, same issue
• Disconnect GPS to remove potential conflict
• Removed heading from R10 device to avoid conflict
• Disable firewall
• Updated ini files and set Verbosity to 3, log attached. (Extract of previous logs where radar was working also attached).
• Updated Ethernet/USB converter firmware
• When Radar disconnected Emulator mode works fine
