Sim rad auto pilot shutting down

My model Simrad WP 5000, turn on works ok for 3-4 minutes then shut off.
If I wait 3 minutes can turn it on again but it shuts off again after 3-4 minutes. Any idea what is wrong? Have check wiring etc but cannot find why it shuts off.

Have you called the guys at Simrad Technical support? They have always been willing to talk to me about technical problems, whether the unit was under warranty or not. Sometimes they have been able to solve problems over the phone, and other times I have had to send the unit in for technical evaluation (a pain).

Give them a call.
