Selecting the Electronics for a New Boat

We are in the process of specing our new boat. A 43' trawler that we hope to do the great loop in. It's been about ten years since boating last and boy have the electronics changed. Does anyone know of a good resource to help select what equipment is needed s what is nice to have and also prove information on networking and selecting one brand over another? We have a lot of catching up to do

Panbo.com is the best resource online for product reviews and other marine electronics advice. Also be sure to check out the links in his sidebar under "My Archives" and "Electronics favs".

Unphased:

You don't mention where you / the boat are located. Find a reputable marine electronics designer / installer as well. I'm sure fellow forum readers will chime in with recommendations if you share where you're located.
