Seatalk to PC

hi,

i would like to feed seatalk instrument data to a laptop

can i do this by going from the seatalk outputs on my st6001+ course computer via a raymarine seatalk-nmea interface box and then to the com port on the pc

any help appreciated

the autopilot computer has a NMEA output as standard, teh ST6001 head doesnt. , but yes you can use the seatalk convertor as that gives you more NMEA sentences then the autopilot directly ( assuming you have more) NMEA is at 5V but most PC serials will read that

I'm planning to do somethin similar, but I'm going to run the NMEA out to a serial to bluetooth converter, doing away with those pesky wires.

thanks for the info.

i've checked the raymarine manual for the interface box. would the installation shown on the attached be ok? all the elements shown in black are existing. those in red would be the new additions.
