Seafarer echo transducer compatiability

I have a Seafarer 700 Echo sounder. The transducer, 150kHz works. But the darn spinner unit is huge. I'd like to replace it with something smaller, and perhaps with a fish finder option.

I have a steel boat, the transducer has a 5/8" hole in the hull and is mounted into a wood fairing.

Plan A. First option would be replace the transducer and sounder with a smaller modern unit, using the same 5/8" mounting format. I looked at Airmar and could not find this type of transducer available. These transducers are available in the UK as NASA uses them, but with the same archaic huge readout.

Can someone point me to a make/model that uses this 5/8" format?

Plan B would be to get a new sounder readout, something smaller, but to reuse the existing 150kHz transducer. But not the NASA Stingray. Too big.

Plan C is to do a whole new install. Which I really don't want to do.

Plan D is to just keep the existing set up, but that doesn't really work.

Re: Seafarer echo transducer compatiability

In the event anyone ever looks here for advice....I found NASA uses the same transducer as Seafarer. They even still produce a modern version of this old style sounder. I have a digital readout instrument on order for about $280 from the Canadian distributor. If it doesn't work I'll post, otherwise it's a good solution.
