Scarce Parts Simrad IS-11 Speed Trough Water Sensor

The Simrad IS-11 thru hull speed sensor is a paddle wheel type with a magnetic pulse sensor. Mine is 18 years old, and periodically the pins that hold the paddle wheel wear thru, or get broken by going over a piece of driftwood. Simrad no longer supports this item with replacement parts.

Have any of you found a way to deal with the problem of losing the paddle wheels? Are other thru-hull sensors compatible with the Simrad IS-11 speed instrument? Is there any source for aftermarket pins and paddle wheels?

If your still looking, a standard AirMar ducer will work.

Can you please tell me a bit more? The IS 11 was produced with a standard through hull depth, or an alternative deeper through hull for larger boats. Mine is the deeper of them. Would I need to replace both the outer bronze portion and the inner plastic portion of the ducer, or are you suggesting that an AirMar inner portion with a paddle wheel would fit the IS11 bronze thru hull housing? Can you provide part numbers of the AirMar components that you are describing?

Thanks for posting. I look forward to following up with AirMar if they have a ducer that would feed my IS11 instruments.
