Scanstrut (Where to buy)

Hello,

It seems we get ripped off locally so I am going to buy a scanstrut online and ship it Internationally.

Anyone able to reccomend a place to buy online?

I think the price we pay in New Zealand for Scanstrut is fine. After you add Duty and GST to my below example, It makes Marine deals NZ look pretty cheap really.

See below for Defender Price of $289.99 USD and in the same picture its about $80 USD for shipping.

About $370 USD, which equals $566 NZD if you see the picture below also.

Add 10% duty = $623NZD and then we'll add 15% GST for the total cost of our imported product of $716.45NZD

Marine deals in NZ sell the same product for $629 NZD with free shipping as you can see from the other picture below.

The Scanstrut LMM-1 online in USA (defender) is $779 = $1180 NZD. With GST thats about $1350. I don't know about the 10% duty as I have never paid that except when importing clothes.

Lustys quoted $2200 for the LMM-1.

Old post but I have modified my thinking to if people are stupid enough to pay that price or can afford it and busty & fondle can provide the service, good on em.
As for me, like most things that can be made or got cheaper, thats my avenue for upgrade.
Did you import one?
I'm gonna make one with some SS tube , internal stator, vane(S) and PDMS damping fluid. I have most of the materials. Will need a couple of sealed bearings that fit inside the tube.
Interested to see if anyone else has DIY'd a successful one.
