rotation sensor

I have a rotating wingmast. Has anyone ever installed a rotation sensor such that the instruments read acurately True Wind Speed and Angle?

many thanks

Depening upon how your forestay is affixed to the mast-head, you may be able to bolt a small L-shaped plate to the stay just below the toggle upon which to mount the base for the windspeed/direction socket. The stay will be rigid enough at that point to accept the minor load of the wand and as it remains fixed relative to the center-line, should provide fairly accurate information. If I were to use this solution, I would also use a wireless system such as the Tick-Tack as a data cable might be subject to too much flex depending upon the degree of freedom of the mast in rotation.

FWIW...

Sailing instruments and a rotating mast have been incompatible for a long time, unless you wanted to spend more on the instruments than the boat

Tamerlane did a neat job of integrating sensors, just as you suggest.
