Replacing a depth sounder.

I have a question about replacing a depth sounder. The existing transducer operates at 192 khz. The new sounder has a 200 khz transducer. I have been told that I can use the 192 khz one with the new sounder. Does anyone know for sure? I would have to haul the boat to replace it, otherwise. Thanks.
