Replacement for DST800 Airmar/Raymarine speed log

Have a Tri sensor that was installed too close to keel, and the speed difference on the different tack is enormous.
Getting a replacement hull fitting and moving it forward is a obvious move, however just wondering if there is a better alternative: A analogue paddle wheel that is subject to hull fouling etc is not the best. Years ago (!984) was working on a ship that had a ultrasonic transducer that was very good. I know that Raymarine have a digital replacement but its having issues.

Does somebody have a better suggestion.

Part no is DST800 P617V, connected to Raymarine ITC5 on seatalk ng network.

You may want to look to see if the sensor is installed straight or if it is straight maybe turn it slightly one direction or the other by a few degrees. The problem with the DST800 is that it uses a unique size housing. In our case we need a long stem version so we have been having difficulties sourcing a replacement that doesn't require us to fill in the old hole and cut a new one.

Have altered alignment 45deg to port to get similar reasonable readings. (Transducer mounted on port side but in line with leading edge of keel).
