Remote Monitoring Systems

I thought I would resurrect this topic as I haven't seen this for quite a while and technology changes rapidly here (last topic I found was over 2 years ago).

I want to remotely monitor my battery V and maybe bilge. I could go crazy and monitor more, but I am more interested in hearing if anyone is using some of the systems out there and what they like and dislike. I need a system that does NOT require internet, but uses cell service. Ideally getting a text or email when a threshold is crossed.

MyBoatStatus - Online wireless vessel monitoring
Marine Monitoring Products | SmartSwitch
Leading the Way in Boat Monitoring and GPS | Siren Marine

are some of the popular ones. But these can't be all.

I do NOT want to build something from a rasp pi, etc unless there is a whole waterproof kit with all the components and SW.

Thanks.

Re: Remote Monitoring Systems

I've been using the solutions offered by Topkodas Electronics JSC Smart Automation Solutions. Product Comparison Table - Android and iPhone apps - GTALARM GSM SMS/DIAL Security Alarm Remote Control System - New GTalarm2 automation module - GSM TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER GSM THERMOSTAT GSM ALARM, GTC812 in a previous boat and GTGPS in my current one. Bought them on eBay.

Works pretty well, no complaints at all.
I use mine as a bilge alarm and tracker for now, but plan on adding a motion sensor and a siren to make it a proper alarm alarm system. And if/when I need to leave the boat in the water over the winter I will certainly use the temperature controller bit.
