RC42 to replace Ray fluxgate?

I'm installing all new electronics that include a Simrad RC42 for the new NSS8 and 4G radar. I also have a new Raymarine Wheel Pilot that uses a fluxgate compass. The RC42 has simnet and NEAMA 0183 connection. Can I use the NEAMA 0183 to feed the auto pilot and not use the fluxgate compass?

I would advice to buy the Maretron heading sensor instead. It is NMEA 0183 plus NMEA2000 and works with Simrad autopilot, radar etc. It also has heel and pitch sensors.

SimNet is just like NMEA 2000, just different connectors. There are simple conversion cables available. I used NMEA2000 everywhere and put adapter cable on each Simrad unit.
