Raytheon radar needs repair

I need to have my radar repaired. And I'm wondering if I should send it to the company or have it checked by the local dealer. does anyone have any advise?

I called the local Raytheon dealer/service place here in town, and today I called the Raytheon factroy service center and I have made up my mind. The dealer said it will cost $72. for them to test it and tell me what is wrong ,and it will be 3 weeks before they get around to it. The factory said they will have it back out the door repaired in less than 2 weeks. I think I will be way ahead dealing with the factory.

IS< You made the right decision. The reason the dealer would take so long is that they would have sent it to the same place you did, Charged you the same plus their cut. Glad it worked out for you. Chuck

I'm very pleased. And I think it was the best decision. I plan to send all my repairs to the factory. I don't think they will get the attude that local places can get if you ask them when it will be done. The local company had my friends boat for over 2 months before they got around to working on the problem.
