Raymarine T400 Course Computer up-grade ? ?

I have a Raymarine T400 Course Computer

I would like to add a Gyro function to my T400 Course Computer.

This is the response I received from the Raymarine tech support.

"To add the Gyro function to your T400 course computer, you can opt for the part number #A18069 rate gyro and have this installed into the course computer to give you a T400G course computer

Additionally, the software of the course computer will need to be updated to acknowledge the inclusion of the rate gyro."

Has anyone done this or aware of any other possible way to upgrade a T400 Course Computer ?

If so, how have you found the results of the upgrade ?
