Raymarine ST60 Wind Masthead Connector Pin-Out
Hi people from Cuisers Forum, my name is Rossano and I live in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. So, I am new in this forum and please forgive me, if I fail in my poor english.
I have a Raymarine, an old ST60 Wind, that have a strange behavior in its display.
The 1º question is: may I use just, the new ST60 Wind plus display with my old masthead unity?
But, I do not know what of the then are failing, the display or the masthead, so, to know that I would like to ask if someone know the pinouts of the female conector on the masthead (looks like a bigger DIN female plug), in other words what pin of this one, goes to the colored pins in the back of the display? I need this information just to perform some tests on my home workshop, to be sure about the failure. Many thanks in advance, best regards.

Re: Raymarine ST60 wind masthead conector pin-out
You may want to call Raymarine technical support to doublecheck, but this is what they told me when I had a similar problem:
Measure voltage at the back of the display. If the values are:
Between Silver and Red around 8V
Between Silver and Blue 2-6V
Between Silver and Green 2-6V BUT DIFFERENT THAN SILVER AND BLUE
Between Silver and Yellow 0-5V
then the masthead assembly is OK and it is the display that is faulty.

This shows the pin out for a ST50 transducer.

Re: Raymarine ST60 Wind Masthead Transducer Alignment
After much research, dismantling my transducer, help from this forum and a few clues from RM. I think I have put together a complete analysis of how the ST 60 wind transducer works.
Attached are complete details of how to test and align the ST 60 mast head transducer. Along with wiring to the pin connections of the mast head plug.
Hope this helps
Bob

I'm sory BOB but I can't open the file, it appears as a corrupt file. I use MSWord 2007. Good winds, best regards.

Re: Raymarine ST60 Wind Masthead Connector Pin-Out
Ours was struck by lightning on the hard two winters ago. I replaced the mast-top instrument. the connector wass blown apart and the SS stalk was burned.
I was able to get the service tech to tell me what the voltages should be at each pair. That helped me figure out that it was totally fried.
Once replaced, the deck mounted indicator still did not work - showed all zeros. I went into the programming and told it to revert to the factory defaults for all settings. That fixed it.

Re: Raymarine ST60 Wind Masthead Connector Pin-Out
My problem was alignment. No matter what I did re electronic alignment, sailing in circles and adjusting the heading wind direction would not be correct for all directions. This was finally corrected by physically rotating the transducer element in its housing!

SailBobC,
Having the same problem--always have to reorient it. How exactly did you rotate the transducer? Clockwise, counterclockwise, while at the top of the mast?
Where is the PDF file posted?
It looks like I may have to try this next.
Marshall

Re: Raymarine ST60 Wind Masthead Connector Pin-Out
There should be a link at the bottom of the original posting. It is there when I check it.
I adjusted the transducer when the mast was hauled for the winter. It is just held in the housing by an "O" ring. You really need to see my attachment.
