Raymarine RL70 Power-Up Issue

When I power-up my display I hear a click, (no beep) then the screen flashes on and off (in light grey), then black screen and another click is heard 6 seconds after the flash. Power is not the issue . I connected my L755 to the same powercord hooked to a Sears DieHard platinum group 31 AGM battery w/ 90% charge. The L755 had no problems. Any help with this problem would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Bob

Re: Raymarine RL70 Power-Up Issue

I have a issue with a Raymarine 530 chartplotter. Sometimes it just will not power up, but later it will. I have come to the conclusion it is time to upgrade as the repair cost at Raymarine is to much for the older technology. I am now looking to upgrade to the new E7 touch screen chartplotter. It has some very cool features, it will display over wifi to an ipad giving you a second dispay below. Also it will control your Ipod functions to an iphone via bluetooth. It has a fast processor an many more features. Go check it out and at least dream about some new boat porn.

Re: Raymarine RL70 Power-Up Issue

I just found this thread - I have a similar issue, with my RL70CRC. It is not powering up; I see the screen lighten slightly then nothing further. I have not checked the connections or power etc. as yet as it is in a NAVPOD....and I need to get the tool to open it up. re-boot seems like a good starting point - do you recall how to to it?
