Raymarine Raynet to RJ45 Pinout

I could not seem to find the info on the web, so I just bought a Raynet to RJ45 Ethernet cable and tested out the connections. Looks like Raymarine is just using the standard 10/100M wiring scheme.

Ronstory,
Saw your post from 2017 about the raynet to rj45 connector. I bought a used radome with digital cable that's missing the raynet connector. Recently Posted about it under marine electronics. I was told I could use an rj45 connector. My digital cable wiring has 4 color wires (green, orange, white green, white orange) plus a flimsy thing I think you called sheath?
Do you know the wiring order? This stuff is new to me and confusing.

Does the other end of the cable that connects to the radar dome look like the 10 pin connector in the attached pdf?

No, here's a picture of it and it fits the rd418d.

I think your image is of the raynet connector which is missing.

OK, that is version before they went with the "quantum" line. I'm only familiar with the version that has the 10 pin raymarine cable. Raymarine uses standard ethernet for the comms on all the stuff in the last 10 years or so... and just obscures that fact with proprietary connectors.

Which MFD do you have? What does the radome connector look like on back of the MFD?

The mfd that came with the radome is a C90 wide.

That's main power connector with seatalk (NMEA0183) ports & video, you need the seatalk-HS ports. If you look at the back, there should be a couple more ports on the right. The have a waterproof cover but inside should be an hidden RJ45 port.

yes, that is the power/data cable, there are 3 other ports...Seatalk 1 and Seatalk 2, and then one that looks like a spur cable outlet that I assumes would go to a backbone. The power/data cable is also cut off at the other end and has 17 wires exposed, 2 for power and negative, and then 15 that look like they would go to some kind of rj45 connector.

There's another cable in the seatalk 1 outlet that has a rj45 connector actually attached.

You can use the pinout in the manual to figure out which wire does what in the power loom. The your data lines from the radome are the green and orange twisted pairs.

For testing, I would just hack up a old ethernet cable and connect the 4 wires by color to your radome cable and then plug that cable into a simple ethernet switch box and run a standard ethernet cable to the MFD and connect it to that switch box.

If that works, then use standard ethernet crossover cable coupler to connect the hacked up ethernet cable to the standard cable into the back of the MFD... or just make a custom cable. ;^)

the c90w will have two "seatalkhs" ports on the back. a round locking collar with rj45 in the middle. for the radar.

so ideally you will also need an rj45 to seatalkhs adapter as well. (not the current raynet plug) if you want the waterproof locking collar on the back of the sreen. if not you can just sick the rj45 from the radar straight into the back. it should stay in place, just not as good as the locking raymarine connector

but like the other post. I don't know that pinout off hand.

actually here is a standard seatalk hs cable. (that would fit into the c90w) not a radar but probably the same pinout. both ends of the cable are the same.

with the connector facing down I get

Yes, that is just a standard RJ45 T-568B pinout... minus blue/brown pairs. ;^)

So you can use a normal ethernet cable to test with a simple ethernet switch between the radome and MFD for functionality.
