Raymarine RAY54e VHF Radio Problem + AIS

Hi there,

I wonder if someone can give me some pointers on how to locate the problem with my Raymarine RAY54e VHF Radio.

The problem is a combination of poor reception and transmission. I have a splitter for my AIS and I can see that sometimes my AIS track on MarineTraffic is lost. So it seems that my AIS is also affected and sending my AIS location intermittently.

I don't know the exact name of the kit, but I have the ability to send and receive AIS.

I do not have a spare antenna to test with. I do however have a handheld VHF radio. I did a VHF test in the marina and everything was loud and clear.

Where do I start, to find the problem?

Disconnect the AIS splitter and run the antenna right to the radio. If it works, the problem is the splitter. If not, borrow or buy an emergency antenna and test the radio with it.
