Raymarine eS7 Hybrid touch and tracking

Just bought the Raymarine eS7 hybrid touch chart plotter, read the manual on tracking, following a route with the autopilot, tried it this past weekend and was not able to get it to work. Operator error!

So I started after leaving the first waypoint on the route, went into navigate, Follow Route, identified the route, then track. I am not currently on the boat for the exact wording. The system kept coming up with questions on do you want to continue, are you sure, ect. It seemed to skip the first three waypoints and start toward a waypoint that was on the other side of a reef.

I also read the manual and it seemed in that to be much easier and did not mention the messages that I was getting.

Could anyone give me some instructions that I could follow? I'm going to try again on Saturday.

Thanks

You will notice that the manual says that not all autopilot functions are available from the multi function screen. Try operating the autopilot from its control panel. You may get better results.

I can use the go to function. Maybe as you said "Not all" autopilot functions work with the unit. Hopefully there is a way to get it to work. Thanks for your suggestion.

My problem is locking the cursor in the "Course UP" mode, it keep reverting back to the "North Up" mode! Any help, please?

Re: Raymarine eS7 Hybrid touch and tracking

Not sure if this will help at all. We can't sail now, shutdown mode in Grenada.

Under Presentation;
View and Motion;
I have it set to--
Chart View - 2D
Chart orientation - Course up
Motion Mode - Relative Motion
Chart Sync - OFF

For some reason I am thinking that I had Chart Syn set to ON and had problems.

I hope this helps

OK, the only thing I'm doing different is I've got the Chary Sync on, would that make a difference?

I do not know, although I believe when I first bought the Hybrid, by having the Sync on yes, I had problems with something. Easy fix to try.
