Raymarine E80 + Radar

Hi all.
I have a Raymarine 520 (B&W) chart plotter at the nav station below. At the helm I have ST60, Tri-data and log.
Last year I bought a Raymarine E80 and Northern Europe charts which replaced my old (non Raymarine) colour plotter at the helm.
I also run a NASA AIS. The Radio is Raymarine DSC and the whole system is fully integrated with all data available at both plotters.
I have just got a 2Kw Raymarine Pathfinder 18inch Ray-dome (working) serial no M92650-S / SO150429¤ from a good friend at a silly price.
Does anyone know if;
1. This is a plug and play fit to the E80 or if I have to upgrade the Ray-dome?
2. Or sell it on and buy a newer unit?
3. Or can I only run the radar at the nav station below by plugging it in to the 520?
The plugs on both plotters appear to be compatible, and although I have all the hand books the info appears to conflict.

Help appreciated!!
Blinky

Re: Raymarine E80 + Radar

The following analog radar units will function with the E-Series Classic MFD's. Raymarine has discontinued the sale of analog radar units.

I asked Raymarine that same question.... The answers that they gave are listed below. It appears that your radome is compatable with the E80.

The Key will be when the radome was manufactured.

Regards, E

-----------------------

Model numbers M92650-S or E52065 are 2KW 18" domes that are compatible.
Model numbers M92652-S or E52067 are 4KW 24" domes that are compatible.
Model number T52001-S is a 4KW open array that is compatible.
Model number T52012-S is a 10KW open array that is compatible

If the Radar unit was made prior to May of 2003 , then it is not compatible. If if was made after May of 2003 then it is compatible. Please see the following link for answer ID# 964 pertaining to radar compatibility.

You can find the compatibility listr here:

Re: Raymarine E80 + Radar

Thats good news! (I think) Hopefully it was made after May of 2003. At worst I can connect it to the 520 below. Or put it on e-bay and then get a later model. either way @ £300 I now have Radar below at the nav table or on the E80 Helm.

Thanks for the info.

Have fun on the water, sail safe.

Re: Raymarine E80 + Radar

Tested the Radar dome today, works on the E80, not below on the 520.

Just have to make a pole and fittings to mount on the transome now, as the dome will snag he jenoa. Thanks for your help EVM
