Raymarine A50 Plotter and E85001

Hi this is my first post so please bear with me ............

Does anyone have experience of interfacing a Raymarine A50 plotter with the ST60 wind unit, via a seatalk to nmea converter. I have this interface working with depth and speed but no wind data.

The old raymarine seatalk to nmea converter that I have out puts VWR sentences which I know wont work with the A50. I have found specifications on the internet that suggest the A50 will accept MVW sentences. I also found a specification to suggest the newer E85001 outputs MVW sentences from seatalk wind data input, and just wondered if any one could confirm this.

For info the nmea data stream into euronav seapro which shows all the data including wind and AIS - my netbook is of course at the chart table and the plotter is at the wheel
